Mid November we had an exclusive coverage on Indian Garment retailers ambitious overseas expansion plans. Now we have another great story – The Great Kabab Factory, [TGKF] restaurant chain heading to the Gulf.
The Great Kabab Factory started as a special restaurant within Radisson hotel in New Delhi. It was an instant hit and the hotel management decided to open another outlet in Noida. You got the same good kabab at lesser price and everybody flocked to it and thus began the specialty restaurant chain.
The company plans to setup 10 outlets in Bahrain, Dubai and Muscat by 2008. Ms. Ashna Kapur, Director of TGKF said,
TGKF brand has been very well received within India, which motivated us to st shop abroad. We are quite aggressive on our expansion in the overseas market and are targeting to open atleast 10 restaurants in the region by the end of next year.
The company is also planning to venture into the lucrative European and American market besides Nepal, Bangladesh and other neighboring countries.
