Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries which launched the revamped Vimal brand is now planning to co-brand the same. Mr. Anand Parekh, president of RIL Textile business said,
A lot of appareal sitting in our stores and exports have been inspired by Italian designers. Now this can be consolidated further with the possiblity of a co-branding initiative. The collaborator can provide technical assistance.
We already know that Vimal’s most premium brand – Vimal Black is inspired by Italian designer, Maurizio Bonas.
The company is also planning a complete revamp of its furnishing brand – Harmony. Mr. parkeh added,
All this time we have not leveraged the Harmony brand because the Indian consumers are fickle with regard to furnishing fabrics. They are more led by colors, designs and discounts not necessarily by the quality of the products. We are currently evaluating on how to build volume into this business.
The company is alooking at various avenues to expand its processing and finishing facilities for fabrics in collaboration with a player based in western europe.
