Diesel's arm K-Bit has set up a domestic arm in Chennai to increase its exposure in the Indian market. Diesel has split its operations in sourcing headquarters of Hong Kong thus leadint to speculation about India plans. [India is likely to be be sourcing head-quarters for South-Asian operations]. Hugo Boss is said to have several talks with Madura Garments and Pokarana Fashions. Liz Clairborne is already sourcing with a small base from Bangalore is likely to expand the same.
German kids wear brand Kanz, Ireland's largest linen manufacturer Baird McNutt and Finish company Ahlstorm are all buying into Indian garment and textile story. It is believed that India will be able to replace the level of garmenting sophistication seen in European markets like Italy.
With special incentives in the Indian SEZs for exporters and availability of world class talented pool is prompting these companies to look at India.
